Presented by Professor Sir John Pendry

Eureka Talk Poster Pendry

The University of Ottawa Department of Physics is excited to launch a new series of public events to bring cutting edge physics to the Ottawa community. These events are targeted at high school students and their families.

The inaugural Eureka Talk will be on Saturday January 30 at 10:30am in the Faculty of Social Sciences Building (room 2005) at uOttawa. Professor Sir John Pendry will speak on the science of invisibility cloaks, which he described for the first time. We will then have a moderated discussion with Sir John about what it is like to be a practicing physicist, including such topics as decisions he made that went well and perhaps ones that he regrets.

Following the event, there will be an open house at the uOttawa Advanced Research Complex, with physics labs open and available for tours and discussions.

More information is available at eurekatalk.eventbrite.com. To make sure we have the appropriate number of seats, we request that attendees register at that site.
